Rice flour waffles with strawberries and honey
I love experimenting with simple and quick breakfasts, but it's not every day that I get inspiration for variations that I want to share, today's morning is an exception because it turned out delicious and strawberry season is just around the corner.
Ingredients:
For 8 small round waffles
For the batter:
- egg - 1 pc;
- sugar - 1 tbsp (you can do without it, because to serve waffles - honey);
- a pinch of salt;
- leavening agent - 1/2 tsp;
- milk - 100 ml;
- rice oil - 50 ml;
- rice flour - 6 tbsp with the top;
- pink flavoring - 1.5 tsp .
To serve:
- fresh strawberries;
- honey
Cooking rice flour waffles with strawberries and honey:
In a bowl, mix rice flour with baking powder and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg with a whisk and sugar. Add the milk and vegetable oil and stir to combine. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture, stirring constantly, then add the pink flavoring and gently spoon into the dough.
Grease the electric waffle iron with vegetable oil, plug it in and let it heat up. Scoop a full tablespoon of batter and place in the electric waffle iron, keep until the waffles are ready. Bake waffles from all the batter. Remove each waffle from the waffle iron and put them in a covered container to prevent them from getting stale.
Serve the waffles, garnished with strawberries and drizzled with honey.
My comments:
- immediately after baking the waffles have a light crispy crust and soft crumb inside, if you like such a crust, then it is advisable to serve the waffles immediately, because after storing in a container, the crispy crust will not be crisp.

My comments- the waffles are flavorful, can be served with any berries and fruits, and instead of honey, feel free to use maple syrup.
