Eggs dyed in onion husks
There are a lot of different colors and stickers on the market now to decorate eggs for Easter. However, onion husks are a natural way to color eggs, and using plant leaves gives you unlimited options for patterns and designs. Try it - it's simple and fun.
Composition (per 1 liter of water):
- onion husks - 3-4 handfuls
- white eggs - 1 dozen
- parsley leaves, cilantro, small leaves of trees
Preparation of eggs dyed in onion husks:
Dye white eggs - they better "absorb" paint and the drawing on them looks more contrasting.
For drawing on eggs you can use any small leaves, for example, parsley, cilantro, etc. It is better if the leaves are slightly wilted, in this case they will stick to the eggs better and the drawing will be clearer.
Fill onion husks with water and bring to a boil.
Meanwhile, wash the eggs, wet the leaves and glue the leaves to the eggs.
Stretch the thin kapron stocking well and place the egg in it, being careful not to move the leaf.
And then place the egg in the stocking.
Knot the stocking, lay out the next egg and do the same with all the eggs.
Dip the stocking with the eggs into the boiling onion broth so they are completely covered with water, and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Add the eggs to the boiling onion broth and cook for 10-15 minutes.
After that, drop the eggs into cold water for 5 minutes.
Then gently untie the stocking and remove the eggs.
Use the cooked eggs to decorate the Easter table.
