Red borscht with dumplings
Delicious, very flavorful borscht. Will bring variety to the traditional list of first courses.
Composition:
- prepared dumplings – 8-12 pieces .
- beets – 2-3 pcs. (depending on size)
- onion – 1 pcs.
- carrots – 1-2 pcs.
- potatoes – 3-4 pcs.
- tomato paste – 2 tbsp.
Cooking:
Cut potatoes into medium pieces, pour water (2.5-3 liters) and put to boil.
Finely chop onions, grate carrots and beets or finely chop them. Stew the vegetables in a pan with vegetable oil until soft and transfer them to the potatoes.
When the vegetables are ready, add tomato paste to the borscht and put dumplings. Allow to boil and simmer for another 10 minutes. When the dumplings are ready, turn off.
Serve with sour cream.
