New Year's 3-D cookies
I have many different cookie recipes, and this recipe for thin shortbread cookies probably won't surprise anyone. But thanks to molds that allow you to fold the cut-out cookies after baking like a constructor and make them three-dimensional, the cookies immediately come to life and become interesting. And if it is decorated with colorful sugar icing, it will perfectly decorate the New Year's or Christmas table.
For these molds, any recipe of cookies that keep their shape well during baking and get thin enough to "fold" into each other is suitable. I used a thin shortbread cookie recipe, you can use any of your other favorite recipes, whether it's ginger cookies or chocolate chip cookies. For "warmth" I added cinnamon to the dough - its flavor is great for warming up on cold days.
You can also use regular cookie molds, only in them you will need to make cuts on opposite sides, and after baking connect the cookies in this place.
Composition:
- sugar - 100 gr.
- butter - 100 gr.
- cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- egg - 1 piece
- flour - 200-250 gr.
Preparation of New Year's volume cookies:
In a bowl, combine the softened butter, sugar and cinnamon.
Stir the mixture until smooth. Add the egg and mix.
Then pour in the sifted flour and substitute a soft smooth dough.
Gather the dough into a ball, wrap in food wrap and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Divide the chilled dough into 3 equal pieces and roll out each piece on baking parchment into a 0,5 cm thick layer. Use the molds to cut out cookie cutters from the dough.
Remove the remaining dough from the parchment and place the cookies in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes - they should stay light, only the edges may brown slightly.
Rasate the scraps of dough and cut out cookies from them as well.
Cool the finished cookies and then decorate with icing. I used ready-made icing sugar pencils.
Then assemble 3-D shapes from the cookies and decorate your holiday table with them.
Enjoy!"
