Guardian Angel cookies.

On Christmas Eve, I'm always in a special mood - I want to believe in miracles and magic. And to give that magic to others. And when I came across a cookie mold in the shape of an angel, I immediately came up with the idea of making such edible gifts. After all, it is so nice to give your loved ones a little attention and goodies. And how pleasant it is to receive such gifts! These are based on ordinary shortbread cookies, but in an unusual shape.

Composition:

batter:

  • flour - 300 gr.
  • cream butter - 200 gr.
  • sugar powder - 100 gr.
  • egg yolk - 1 egg yolk
  • salt - a pinch

glaze:

  • sugar powder - 100 gr.
  • water
  • cream butter - 1 tsp.

Preparation of cookies "Guardian Angel":

Cut the butter into cubes and mix with the flour, powdered sugar and egg yolk.

Rub everything together until flour crumbs form.

Then knead a soft smooth dough. If the dough does not clump well, add 1 tbsp of cold water.

Wrap the dough in food wrap and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Then roll out the dough on a flour-dusted table (or between two sheets of baking paper, as you prefer) and use a cookie cutter to cut out the cookies.

Transfer the cookies to a baking tray lined with baking parchment and bake in a preheated 190 degree oven for 7-10 minutes.

Take the finished cookies out and cool.
For the icing, mix powdered sugar with water, melted butter and food coloring and decorate the cookies.
