Cottage cheese bagels with sugar
Delicious, tender and flavorful bagels. The dough inside remains soft and tender, and the crust on top – crispy thanks to the sugar melted on top.
Constituents:
- cottage cheese – 400 gr.
- butter – 150 gr.
- flour - 1,5-2 tbsp.
- salt - 1/3 tsp.
- leavening agent - 1 tsp.
- baking soda - 0,5 tsp.
- sugar - 0,5 tbsp.
Cooking:
Bring the butter to room temperature. Mix the cottage cheese and butter until smooth. Add salt, baking soda and baking powder and mix. Gradually add the flour to make a soft, smooth and slightly sticky dough. Add enough flour to make the dough soft, but not too runny. If there is not enough flour, the bagels will fall and be flat, and if there is a lot of flour, they will be dry.
After kneading, divide the dough into 2 parts and roll it into rolls.
Dust the table with flour and roll one ball of dough into a circle. Sprinkle the rolled out dough evenly with one third of the sugar specified in the recipe (about 1/6 cup). Lightly pressing, roll the dough with a rolling pin so that the sugar sets on it.
Carefully, holding the dough, cut the circle diagonally into 12 or 16 segments. Roll each segment into a tube from the outer edge to the center.
Do the same with the second part of the dough.
Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Pour the remaining sugar into a saucer. Dip one side of each bagel into the sugar and place on the baking tray with the sugar on the top.
Place the bagels on the baking tray with the sugar on top.
Bake the bagels at 200-220 degrees until browned, about 20-25 minutes.
Enjoy!"
