Thick lentil soup
The soup is delicious, with pleasant spicy notes, and very hearty, despite the fact that it is cooked without meat. Lentils are well boiled and the consistency of the finished soup resembles mashed potato soup.

Constituents:
- Lentils (red or yellow) – 1 tbsp .
- onion – 1 pcs.
- potatoes – 3 pcs.
- tomato – 2 pcs.
- butter – 2 tbsp.
- salt, ground red pepper
Cooking:
Rinse the lentils well, pour water over them and boil until tender.
Peel onions and chop finely. Boil the tomatoes in boiling water so that the skins come off easily. Peel off the skins and chop finely.
Melt butter in a frying pan and fry onion – until lightly golden. Add the tomatoes and stew for 4-5 minutes under a lid. Add ground red pepper.
Pour the resulting mixture of onions and tomatoes into the pot together with the lentils, add the potatoes, peeled and cut into medium pieces. If the soup is very thick, add a few spoonfuls of water. Cook the soup until the potatoes are ready. After that, salt, add bay leaf, dried basil and oregano.
