Nut cake with plums and chocolate
Another recipe from a Bulgarian cooking magazine. Plums, nuts and chocolate are combined in a magical way and the result is very flavorful, juicy and delicious. The pie cooks very quickly, the batter is moist like a muffin, but at the same time loose and quite airy. In the season of plums to cook without fail!
Compound:
- butter - 175 gr.
- plums - 500 gr.
- sugar (brown sugar is better) - 175 gr.
- flour - 175 gr.
- hazelnuts - 175 gr. + a handful
- eggs - 3 pcs.
- leavening agent - 1 tsp.
- dark chocolate - 50 gr.
Preparation of walnut pie with plums and chocolate:
Chop the nuts (175g) in a blender. Leave a handful of nuts whole. The recipe specifies hazelnuts, but I used a mixture of cashews and walnuts.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (if you have convection - 160 degrees).
Place paper on the bottom of a 20 cm diameter mold and grease the bottom and edges with butter.
Cut the plums into halves, remove the pips, leave 4 plums whole and cut the rest into small pieces or thin slices.
Pour the sugar, butter, flour, ground nuts, eggs and baking powder into a bowl and beat with a mixer for 1-2 minutes until you have a smooth and fluffy batter.
Add chopped plums and chocolate to the dough (I used chocolate drops, if you have chocolate in a bar, either chop it finely or grate it), mix well and pour the dough into the prepared mold.
Add the chocolate drops to the dough.
Slice the remaining plums into thin slices and place on top of the dough, pressing them into it slightly, sprinkle the nuts on top.
Bake the pie for 40-50 minutes, until the surface is browned and a stick comes out of the dough dry.
Cool the pie in the mold for 10 minutes, then carefully remove.
Enjoy!"
