Baked plums with nuts and cinnamon
At first glance, it may seem like an ordinary jam, but this is not the case at all. There is less sugar in this dish, the fruit flavor is brighter, the fruit is not boiled, but keeps its shape, besides, the addition of nuts enriches the dish, and cinnamon is the best partner for plums. Everything is prepared simply and quickly, and you can use it with toast, croutons, pancakes or just with tea.
Constituents:
- plums - 1 kg
- raw almonds - 100 g .
- sugar - 500 gr.
- cinnamon - 2 sticks + 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
- allspice - 1 tbsp. (optional)
Preparation of baked plums with nuts and cinnamon:
In a saucepan pour 300 ml of water, put in it sugar, cinnamon sticks and almonds (if desired, add oregano pepper, it will enrich the flavor), bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
Then drain and reserve the syrup, and peel the almonds from their skins (the kernels pop out very easily).
Divide the plums into halves and remove the seeds.
Place the plums in a deep heatproof mold.
Sprinkle with ground cinnamon, nuts, and pour in syrup (if the plums are very juicy, you may need half the syrup).
Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for 30 minutes.
Transfer the cooked plums to a clean, dry jar, cool and store in the refrigerator.
We had them gone in 2 days, but I think they can keep for a week.
Enjoy!"
