Crispy roasted chickpeas

Roasted chickpeas – it's pretty much the equivalent of popcorn, only it's not made from corn. It can be made either sweet or savory. Fried chickpeas turn out to be very crunchy, with a pleasant nutty flavor.

Constituents:

  • chickpeas
  • cinnamon
  • powdered sugar

Cooking:

Wash the chickpeas and soak them in clean cold water for 10-15 hours, changing the water 1-2 times. After that, boil the chickpeas until tender, but do not allow them to boil. When the chickpeas are ready, drain the water and dry the peas a little.
In order to prepare a sweet version of this appetizer, chickpeas should be generously sprinkled with cinnamon. For a spicy version, sprinkle curry, paprika or any other spices.

After that, place the chickpeas in a single layer in a mold, place in a preheated oven at 190 degrees and bake for about 40 minutes. If the warm air in the oven is not evenly distributed, the chickpeas should be stirred several times so that the peas are cooked at the same time.
As a result of cooking, the peas should become hollow inside and crispy. After that, if desired, the sweet version can be sprinkled with powdered sugar.
You can store the cooked chickpeas in a jar, but you should put the peas in the dish already cooled down.
Bon appetit!
