Appetizer liver cake
Simple, but nevertheless original appetizer, the recipe of which was shared with me by my friend Christina. This appetizer is very popular in the western part of Ukraine and is almost always on the holiday table. The products used are quite affordable, so the liver cake can be included in the everyday menu.
Compost:
- chicken liver - 800 gr.
- eggs – 3 pcs.
- onion – 1 pc.
- flour – 0,5-0,8 tbsp.
- mayonnaise – 200-250 gr.
- Garlic – 5-6 cloves
- salt, pepper – to taste
- vegetable oil for frying
- egg – 2 pcs. (for decoration)
Cooking:
In a food processor or blender, chop the onion. Separately chop the liver to a puree.
Prepare the liver.
Mix onion and liver, add eggs, salt and pepper.
Gradually, one spoonful at a time, add the sifted flour until the dough reaches the consistency of sour cream.
On a frying pan greased with vegetable oil, fry pancakes from the batter.
Separately mix mayonnaise and garlic squeezed through a press.
Stack the pancakes, smearing each pancake with the mayonnaise-garlic mixture.
Add the pancakes to the stack, smearing each pancake with the mayonnaise-garlic mixture.
Leave the resulting cake overnight in the refrigerator for soaking (if there is no time, the cake can be served immediately, but after soaking the flavor will improve significantly).
Before serving, sprinkle the cake with grated hard-boiled eggs or decorate it as desired.
