Potatoes baked with meat
This is one of my favorite «lazy» dishes - its preparation does not require much effort and a lot of time, but as a result the dish turns out delicious and very flavorful. If you want to prepare a less caloric version, then turkey or chicken meat will do, and if more nutritious – then pork. This dish is perfect for a family dinner, and even a beginner can prepare it.
Composition:
- potatoes – 5-6 large tubers
- meat (I cooked turkey, but any other meat will do)
- Onion – 1 large onion
Cooking:
Peel the onions and potatoes. Cut the meat into small portioned pieces, about 3-4 cm on a side. Cut the potatoes coarsely into about 6-8 pieces each. Cut the onion into half rings.
Put onions, meat, potatoes on the bottom of a heatproof pan or mold. Salt, pepper and add spices to taste. Pour water so that its level is about 3 cm below the level of the products. Cover with a lid and put in an oven heated to 200 degrees. After about 35-40 minutes, remove the lid and bake in the oven further. Check the readiness by piercing the potatoes with a fork, ready potatoes can be pierced without effort. Serve hot.
