Casserole with minced meat, cabbage and rice
A hearty casserole that is prepared similar to lazy stuffed cabbage, but all the ingredients are simply mixed together and baked as a casserole. It's quick and easy to prepare. The flavor almost completely corresponds to the taste of traditional stuffed cabbage.
Composition:
- white cabbage – 500 gr.
- minced meat – 500 gr.
- carrots - 2-3 pcs.
- onion - 1 pc.
- rice – 1 tbsp.
- egg – 1 pc.
- salt, pepper – to taste
Cooking:
Rinse the rice and pour cold water so that it is about 2 cm above the level of rice. Salt the rice and put it on the stove. When the water boils, reduce the heat to low and cook the rice until all the liquid has evaporated.
Put the cabbage, onion and carrots through a large meat grinder.
Put minced meat, egg and rice into the resulting vegetable mass. Salt and pepper the resulting mass.
Place the mass in a greased with vegetable oil mold or tray with high sides, if desired, the top smeared with tomato sauce or ketchup, and bake in a preheated to 200 degrees Celsius oven until ready – about 45-50 minutes.
When serving, you can pour sour cream on top or decorate with sliced tomatoes.
You can serve both hot and cold.
