Homemade stew in the oven
Everyone loves stew! But nowadays it's almost impossible to find good stew in stores, and it's very troublesome to cook it according to the traditional recipe – in jars for storage. I accidentally tried to bake meat in the oven, and by taste it turned out very similar to the stew I adore – pieces of tender, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth meat. I highly recommend trying this recipe.
Composition:
- pork
- salt
- ground pepper
- bay leaf
Cooking stew in the oven:
Cut the meat into small pieces. In a heatproof dish put the meat, add salt and pepper to taste, put a few bay leaves. Fill with a small amount of water so that the water level reaches about half of the meat.
Cover the dish with a lid and put it in a cold oven. Set the heating temperature to 200 degrees and cook for about 2.5-3.5 hours until the meat is soft.
Finished stew can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
Before serving, fry onions in a frying pan until golden and add stew.
Stew is very tasty with mashed potatoes or pasta.
Bon appetit!
