Bacon-wrapped meat loaf.
A simple yet interesting minced meat dish. Meat bread can be used as a second course or as part of sandwiches. Juicy, flavorful and delicious. Recipe from the magazine "Gastronom'".
Composition:
- ground beef or veal - 650 gr.
- minced pork - 250 gr.
- bacon - 10 slices
- onion - 1 onion
- garlic - 2 cloves
- celery - 3 stalks
- butter - 2 tbsp.
- eggs - 2 pcs.
- white bread crumbs - 50 gr.
- ketchup - 4 tbsp.
- chopped basil - 2 tbsp.
- salt, pepper - to taste
Preparation of meat bread:
Peel the onions and garlic and chop them. Wash the celery and cut into thin slices. In a frying pan, melt butter and fry the vegetables for about 8 minutes.
Then mix the minced meat with the roasted vegetables, eggs, bread, ketchup, herbs, salt and pepper.
To make the bread denser, lightly baste the mincemeat by lifting it 5-7 cm above the table and dropping it.
Cover a baking tray with baking paper or foil. Form an oval bread on the baking tray and arrange the bacon slices on top.
Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 1 hour and 15 minutes, occasionally sprinkling it with the released juice.
Cool slightly, slice and serve.
