Chicken and oranges
An interesting, super simple and delicious recipe for chicken with oranges from Nika Belotserkovskaya (Belonika). To surprise your guests and household, but not to tire yourself in the kitchen - it's just right.
Constituents:
- chicken (chicken thighs or wings) - about 1.2 kg
- orange - 4 pcs.
- liquid honey - 100 gr.
- garlic - 3 cloves
- coriander - 1 tbsp.
- turmeric - 1 tbsp.
- salt, pepper - a pinch
- olive oil - 50 ml
- chili pepper - as desired
Preparation of chicken with oranges:
If using a whole chicken, cut it into four pieces - halves and thighs. You can also use just chicken berdas or wings - whichever you like best.
For the marinade, crush the coriander seeds. Squeeze the juice from three of the oranges and slice the fourth orange into circles.
In a bowl, mix the orange juice, honey, coriander, turmeric, olive oil, crushed garlic, salt and pepper. You can add chopped chili peppers for a spicy touch. Mix everything well and coat the chicken pieces with the marinade.
Place in the refrigerator for 3 hours to allow the meat to marinate.
Place chicken pieces in a baking dish, pour the remaining marinade over the chicken and top each piece with orange slices.
Bake the chicken for about 45 minutes in a preheated 180 degree oven, brushing with the dripping marinade every ten minutes.
Bake until desired browning.
This can be served with a green salad, rice, potatoes.... and anything else you like - this dish is absolutely versatile.
Enjoy!
