Meat baked with potatoes and vegetables

This is an interpretation of the recipe for «potatoes baked with meat» - the preparation is identical, only the vegetables have been added to the recipe. I prepared this dish in winter, so I used frozen zucchini and green peas. If you cook this dish in summer, the flavor will naturally be brighter and richer.

Composition:

  • meat – 300 gr.
  • potatoes – 4-5 large tubers
  • onion – 1 piece
  • carrots – 1 piece
  • zucchini – 1
  • green peas – 50-100 gr.
     

Cooking:

Cut the meat into small pieces. Peel potatoes and cut into medium sized pieces, cutting each tuber into about 6-8 pieces. Chop the onion, grate the carrots on a medium grater. Cut zucchini into small pieces. Remove the seeds from the green pea pods.
Put the meat on the bottom of a heat-resistant dish, top with onions, carrots, then potatoes, zucchini and peas. Salt, pepper, add spices to taste. Pour water so that the liquid reaches half of the products. If you use frozen vegetables, use a little less liquid. Cover the pot with a lid and put it in the oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake until cooked through. I check the readiness with a toothpick or a fork – if the potatoes are easily pierced, it means the dish is ready.
